Cookie Policy
Version 2.0 · Effective 17 September 2026
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies OXI ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTS S.L. ("OXI", "we") uses on oxiinstruments.com and checkout.oxiinstruments.com, what they do, how long they last, and how you control them. It complements our Privacy Policy, which describes everything else we do with personal data, including your rights and how to exercise them.
It is written to meet Article 22.2 of the Spanish Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services (LSSI), the ePrivacy Directive as implemented in Spain, the GDPR, and the Spanish Data Protection Agency's (AEPD) Guide on the use of cookies.
1. Who is responsible
OXI ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTS S.L. Rúa dos Pazos 4, Portal 2, Oficina 10, 36360 Nigrán (Pontevedra), Spain support@oxiinstruments.com
2. The short version
We set only the cookies needed to run the site and shop until you decide otherwise. Analytics and marketing cookies are off by default and are activated only if you click "Accept" or enable them in "Preferences". "Reject" is one click and has no downside. You can change your mind at any time via "Cookie preferences" in the footer. Your choice is remembered for 12 months.
3. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser so that it can recognise the browser later. In this policy the word also covers technologies that do the same job: entries in your browser's local storage and session storage, tracking pixels (tiny images or scripts that report a page view or an action), and identifiers passed from our server to an analytics or advertising service. We do not use device fingerprinting.
Cookies are "first-party" when set by our domain and "third-party" when set by another company's domain through code on our pages. They are "session" cookies if they disappear when you close the browser and "persistent" if they stay until a set expiry date.
4. Cookie categories
We use three categories. There is no separate "personalisation" category: language and region are handled by the shop platform as part of the necessary category, and we do not personalise content beyond that.
4.1 Necessary
Required for the website and shop to function: keeping your cart, keeping you logged in to your account, securing checkout, preventing fraud, remembering your currency and country, and remembering the cookie choice you made. These are exempt from consent under Article 22.2 LSSI because you have requested the service they enable. They are always on. Legal basis for the personal data processed: performance of the contract and our legitimate interest in a secure, working site (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
4.2 Analytics
Tell us which pages and products people look at, where visitors come from, and whether the site works well on different devices. We use Google Analytics 4. Data is pseudonymous (a random identifier, not your name), IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage, and we do not use Google Signals or cross-device linking. We use the information only to improve the site and shop. Set only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
4.3 Marketing
Let us show our instruments to people who visited the site, or to people similar to them, on Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok, and measure whether those adverts led to a visit or a purchase. They also allow Klaviyo to recognise you if you subscribe to our newsletter so that emails can reflect what you looked at. These cookies are set by the advertising platforms and may be combined by them with data they hold about you as their user. Set only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
5. The cookies we use
The tables list every cookie and storage entry we know to be set on our domains, by category. Third-party providers may occasionally rename or add cookies; we review this list regularly and update it. Durations are maximum lifetimes.
Server-side transmission
When you have consented to analytics or marketing, the corresponding identifiers (from _ga, _ga_2WK178XSV0, _fbp, _fbc, _ttp, or the ad click parameters in the link you arrived from) are attached to your cart and, if you order, to the order. Littledata then reports the purchase to Google Analytics 4, Meta and TikTok from our server, using those identifiers, so that the purchase is counted even if your browser blocked the client-side request. Identifiers for a category you did not consent to are never attached, and withdrawing consent removes them from your cart.
6. How consent works
When you first visit, a banner offers three options of equal weight: "Accept" (analytics and marketing on), "Reject" (only necessary), and "Preferences" (choose by category, and see each service within a category). Nothing in the analytics or marketing categories runs until you choose. Closing the banner without choosing is not treated as consent; the banner simply returns on the next page.
Your choice is stored in the cc_cookie cookie in your browser for 12 months, after which we ask again. We do not keep a server-side log of your choice; the cookie itself is the record, and it contains the categories you enabled and the time of your decision.
To change or withdraw consent, click "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent for a category deletes that category's cookies from your browser immediately and stops the related services on subsequent pages. It does not affect processing that already happened.
Checkout runs on Shopify's platform at checkout.oxiinstruments.com. Shopify applies its own consent controls there; the checkout pages set only the necessary cookies listed above unless you have also consented within the checkout.
7. Browser signals
Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT): our site currently relies on the banner rather than on browser signals. If your browser sends GPC or DNT we do not treat it as consent, and because nothing non-essential runs without your explicit choice, the result is the same as if you had clicked "Reject". Residents of US states that give GPC legal effect can use the banner to achieve the same outcome.
8. Browser settings
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Instructions for the most common browsers:
Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies and Site data. Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Apple Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data. Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
If you block necessary cookies, the cart and checkout will not work, because they depend on them. Blocking analytics or marketing cookies has no effect on your ability to use the site.
9. Who receives the data
Cookie data is processed by us and by the providers named in the tables: Google Ireland Ltd., Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., TikTok Technology Ltd., Klaviyo, Inc., Littledata Ltd., Shopify International Ltd. and Storesynk. Google, Meta and TikTok also use the data for their own purposes as independent controllers; their privacy policies explain this. Some providers are outside the EEA; the safeguards we rely on are described in section 7 of the Privacy Policy.
10. Sensitive data
Cookies on this site do not collect health, biometric, ethnic, religious, political or sexual-orientation data, and we do not infer such data from browsing. Please do not submit information of this kind through the website.
11. Changes
We update this policy when we add or remove a service or when the law changes. The version and effective date at the top identify the current text. If a change means we would need new consent (for example a new marketing provider), the banner is shown again on your next visit.
12. Contact
