I really like how Squarp implemented arp, quantization, randomization and more in the Pyramid: Per sequence there's a chain of 4 slots where you can add one of many effects in any order. You can read about it here. I think some of the effects are not so useful, especially because this device has fewer tracks. But the exchangeable order of the effects is a really cool thing and it's also an elegant way to bundle many features. For example you can add a randomizer effect to make pitch variations and use the scale effect to prevent unpleasant combinations. Things I'd see for the Oxi One:
- Arpeggiator
- Quantizer / humanizer - shifts notes in time
- Harmonizer - adds up to 4 notes by an offset to create harmonics
- Delay - delay effect emulation using velocity
- Randomizer - randomization of note pitch, length or velocity by offset
- Chance - omits notes by chance
- Scale - shifts notes out of scale to the nearest note in scale
Especially because the pads are not pressure sensitive (which is absolutely reasonable for this size and amount of pads) pitch randomization would be very useful.
I'm not asking to copy the feature but to build something even better by drawing some inspiration from it 🙂
